A novel feature in the Chicago Tribune (The day of rest, April 13, 2008 by Jim Mateja)  about the veritable operating costs per mile for a difference of different vehicles caught my eye–not extraordinary considering how much I’ve written on commuting and its issue of the livelihood of a musician.

The cost of gas rose 31.5 percent in 2007, which mode that the average consumer (driving 10,000 miles a year) will expend between $5,510 and $9,095 to have influence a 2008 protoplast car.  This outline is based on gal, oil, tires, and preservation–parking or tolls are not included in these calculations.
